About the role

Supply chain analysis sits at the intersection of two things Coaley Peak does well: deep data work and commercial impact. In this role, you will work across two distinct but complementary streams. Client-side, you will be embedded within client organisations to map, analyse, and improve their supplier relationships, procurement processes, and logistics operations — often using AI-powered tools to surface insights that manual analysis would miss. Internally, you will apply the same rigour to Coaley Peak's own supplier base, procurement, and operational overhead, feeding into our cost intelligence work.

You will work closely with our Forward Deployed Engineers, Business Implementation Consultants, and the Owlpen cost intelligence team to translate data into concrete actions — renegotiated contracts, eliminated redundancy, restructured supplier relationships, and measurably improved margins.

This is a commercially-oriented analytical role. You will need to be comfortable with numbers, supplier conversations, and executive presentations in equal measure. You do not need to be a developer, but comfort with data tools, spreadsheets, and structured analysis is essential.

The kind of person we are looking for

At Coaley Peak, the technical work is only half the job. We are looking for people who are genuinely reliable — who do what they say they will, when they said they would, without needing to be chased. People who are friendly and easy to work with, both with colleagues and with clients. People who can sit in a boardroom and explain a complex AI model in plain English, and then go back to their laptop and write clean, well-documented code. People who are hungry, hard-working, and take real pride in their output — not because someone is watching, but because that is simply how they operate.

You have a commercial brain and an analytical mindset. You enjoy digging into a supplier spend report and finding the thing that nobody noticed — the duplicated contract, the above-market rate, the vendor nobody uses but everyone keeps paying. You are comfortable in client environments, building trust quickly with procurement and operations teams who may initially be sceptical. You can write a clear, concise analysis and present findings to a CFO without getting lost in the weeds. You probably come from procurement, operations, management consulting, or a similar analytical background.

What you will do

  • Conduct end-to-end supply chain mapping and spend analysis for client engagements — identifying inefficiency, risk, and cost reduction opportunities
  • Analyse procurement data, contracts, and supplier performance metrics using data tools and AI-assisted analysis platforms
  • Build structured models comparing client spend against market benchmarks, flagging overcharges, duplication, and renegotiation opportunities
  • Support contract renegotiation processes — preparing commercial cases, analysis packs, and supplier comparison data
  • Deliver findings to client stakeholders including CFOs, Procurement Directors, and Operations Managers — in writing and in person
  • Apply the same analytical rigour to Coaley Peak's own supplier base and internal procurement, feeding into the Owlpen cost intelligence platform
  • Work with our AI and engineering teams to identify supply chain use cases suitable for automation or AI-assisted monitoring
  • Maintain accurate records of all analysis, findings, and client communications in line with ISO 9001 standards
  • Support proposal and scoping work for new supply chain engagements, including effort estimation and commercial modelling

What we are looking for

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience in supply chain analysis, procurement analytics, or a closely related operational finance/consulting role
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets for modelling and spend analysis
  • Ability to interpret and summarise complex commercial and contractual data for non-specialist audiences
  • Confidence communicating with senior client stakeholders — including presenting findings and recommendations
  • Structured, methodical approach to analysis with high attention to accuracy
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom

Desirable (not essential)

  • Experience with procurement or spend analytics platforms (Coupa, Jaggaer, Ivalua, Power BI, or similar)
  • Exposure to supplier negotiation, contract management, or category management
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted analysis tools or willingness to learn them quickly
  • CIPS qualification (full or part) or equivalent procurement/supply chain credential
  • Experience working in a consultancy or client-facing environment across multiple sectors

What we offer

  • Salary of £35,000 – £55,000 per annum, dependent on experience, reviewed annually
  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Hybrid working — Cheltenham HQ, client sites, and remote
  • Private healthcare and employee assistance programme (EAP)
  • £2,000 annual professional development budget — including support for CIPS if not already held
  • Work alongside cutting-edge AI tooling applied to real commercial problems
  • Regular team offsites and an annual international travel programme
  • Accredited Living Wage Employer
