About the role

Coaley Peak only invoices when it works. That guarantee is only possible because our Client Solutions team ensures every engagement is scoped correctly, commercially structured properly, and delivered against KPIs that actually matter to the client's business. As a Client Solutions Director, you will be responsible for making that happen.

You will lead senior client relationships — board-level and C-suite — from initial discovery through to contract signature and into ongoing delivery oversight. You will translate business problems into concrete solution briefs for our technical teams, and you will be the commercial conscience of every engagement you own.

This is a senior, high-trust role. You will be given real autonomy over how you manage your client portfolio and a genuine seat at the table in shaping how Coaley Peak grows. We are not looking for a traditional account manager. We are looking for someone who combines genuine commercial acumen with curiosity about AI and technology, and who can hold their own in a technical conversation without being an engineer.

The kind of person we are looking for

At Coaley Peak, the technical work is only half the job. We are looking for people who are genuinely reliable — who do what they say they will, when they said they would, without needing to be chased. People who are friendly and easy to work with, both with colleagues and with clients. People who can sit in a boardroom and explain a complex AI model in plain English, and then go back to their laptop and write clean, well-documented code. People who are hungry, hard-working, and take real pride in their output — not because someone is watching, but because that is simply how they operate.

You are the kind of person who does their homework before every client meeting — who reads the annual report, understands the market, and arrives with a point of view rather than a presentation to read from. You build trust quickly because you are honest: you tell clients what they need to hear, not what they want to hear. You are energised by complexity, calm under pressure, and excellent at bringing technical and commercial teams together around a shared objective. You take personal pride in client outcomes, and you do not consider an engagement successful unless the client genuinely feels it was worth it.

What you will do

  • Own a portfolio of strategic client relationships at director and C-suite level, acting as the senior point of accountability across all Coaley Peak workstreams
  • Lead commercial discovery and solution design for new engagements: scope the problem, design the approach, and structure the commercial model
  • Work closely with technical leads to ensure proposed solutions are deliverable, appropriately scoped, and costed correctly
  • Negotiate and close commercial agreements, including outcome-based and performance-linked contracts
  • Monitor delivery against KPIs across your client portfolio, escalating and resolving issues proactively
  • Identify and develop expansion opportunities within existing accounts
  • Represent Coaley Peak at client sites, industry events, and sector forums
  • Contribute to proposition development, case studies, and commercial strategy

What we are looking for

Essential

  • Demonstrable experience in a senior client-facing role within consulting, professional services, technology, or a related field
  • Track record of managing complex, multi-stakeholder commercial relationships at director level or above
  • Strong commercial acumen: comfortable reading a P&L, structuring a commercial proposal, and defending a pricing model
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills — able to adapt register from a data scientist to a CFO
  • Experience working with, or selling, technology or AI-related services
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom

Desirable (not essential)

  • Experience in an outcome-based, performance-linked commercial model
  • Familiarity with AI, automation, data, or digital marketing services
  • Existing network in UK SME, professional services, financial services, or public sector markets
  • Experience with formal procurement frameworks (e.g. Crown Commercial Service, G-Cloud, DOS)

What we offer

  • Salary of £70,000 – £95,000 per annum DOE, plus commission on new business and account growth
  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Flexible hybrid working — London office, Cheltenham HQ, and client sites
  • Private healthcare and employee assistance programme (EAP)
  • £2,000 annual professional development budget
  • International travel programme and regular team offsites
  • Real autonomy and a genuine seat at the table in shaping commercial strategy
  • Accredited Living Wage Employer
