Model Card

A document that describes a model's capabilities, limitations, and intended uses.

Definition

A model card is a standardised documentation format for AI models that covers what the model can and cannot do, what data it was trained on, known failure modes and biases, intended and out-of-scope uses, and evaluation results. Model cards were introduced to improve transparency and help organisations make informed decisions about which models to use for which applications. Major AI providers publish model cards for their models.
