AI in Practice: what is AI and how should I be using it?
From the fundamentals of AI to a hands-on workshop on the procurement tasks local government teams deal with every week.
Led by Dr Jonathan Ashong-Lamptey and Stephen Grindley
Experience of AI varies a lot from one procurement team to the next, so the session starts with the basics and builds to practical work. Then it's your turn, on local government procurement case studies.
- The fundamentals
- What AI is, in plain terms, what it does well and where it goes wrong, so everyone in the room starts from the same place.
- Business cases
- Developing a business case or a board paper.
- Contract review
- Using AI to speed up the review of a contract.
- KPIs
- Building proposed KPIs from a contract specification.
- Procurement briefs
- Turning a service request into a procurement brief, with the clarification questions to ask.
More practice than theory: you'll try each task yourself.
